When a worker participates in a staff selection process, including the appeal process, if any for a position at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency or for positions in other agencies or departments (as defined in the Federal Public Sector Relations Act), with which the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has agreements on selection areas, the worker is allowed to leave with pay for the period during which the worker`s presence is necessary for the purposes of the selection process and for a period that the employer deems appropriate for the worker to go to the place where his presence is required. For better security, payments B28.05 to B28.08 or similar provisions in other collective agreements are considered a termination benefit for the management of B28.02. The parties to this agreement recognize that scientific integrity is an integral part of the work of the Agency and the workers. Ensuring and improving scientific integrity is essential to decision-making in public administration and is the responsibility of all staff. It enables decision-makers to rely on quality, comprehensive and solid scientific and social knowledge to make informed decisions. Scientific integrity involves the application of concepts of transparency, openness, quality work, conflict of interest prevention and high standards of research impartiality and ethics. In this context, the parties recognize the need to promote a culture of scientific integrity within state science and research. The sector also leads the collective bargaining process, develops bargaining strategies and advises staff and human resources departments in departments and agencies of the central public administration on collective bargaining and collective agreements. OTTAWA, ON, July 10, 2020 /CNW/CNW/ – In keeping with its obligation to enter into agreements that are fair to both workers and Canadians, the Canadian government reached a preliminary agreement on July 9, 2020 with Canada`s largest federal public service union, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). If ratified, the Canadian government will have reached agreements for this round of negotiations, which will cover nearly 60 per cent of public servants. After relentless pressure, including PSAC`s legal actions, the government has finally concluded the implementation of previous collective agreements for all Department of Finance (TB) employees.
